Buda TX Education
Located in North Central Hays County, the Hays Consolidated Independent School District serves over 209 square miles. Parts of the district extend into southeastern Travis County and into western Caldwell County. The district currently has 22 campuses. The Hays Consolidated I.S.D. is an Academically Acceptable district by TEA.
Hays CISD is a rapidly growing district. Sixty-five percent of Hays High School students take SAT or ACT exams, and 60 percent of the school’s graduates are accepted to college. Students have access to a wide variety of career and technology courses from networking and business computer information systems to electronics and graphic design. Every campus has at least one certified librarian, certified counselor, and full-time registered nurse. Every classroom has Internet access. The district provides special education support for students who need assistance and Advanced Placement courses for students who show aptitude. The Hays CISD also offers extensive academic and athletic extracurricular activities. Both individual students and teams successfully compete at the highest level of competition.
More than half of the teachers in the Hays CISD have at least 10 years of experience in the profession. The Hays CISD Induction and Mentoring Program provide each novice teacher with a seasoned mentor who acts as a guide and resource and has been recognized as one of the finest in the state.

Historic Downtown Buda is home to Antique Row, a collection of stores and businesses catering to hunters offline antiques to "what is that" and items ranging from the eclectic to the elegant. Buda is also home to the World's foremost outdoor outfitter, Cabela's. As much wildlife museums and education centers as retail stores, Cabela's showrooms provide a truly unique shopping experience. Cabela's website was ranked No. 1 in the outdoor retail industry and the company was named Company of the Year in Sporting Classics magazine's prestigious Awards of Excellence.
As you cross over the railroad tracks into downtown Buda, you will see the Buda Park and Pavilion used for public gatherings and concerts. The Gazebo is the centerpiece of the greenbelt that is home to local festivals including BudaFest (early December).
Located on North Loop 4, visitors can see the original Post Office built in the late 1800s. Currently, the Post Office is part of a 50-acre park under renovation by the City of Buda and public-private partnerships that will become the centerpiece for welcoming guests to our area. Once completed, the park will include an Amphitheatre and Visitor Center with incredible views of the classic Hill Country scene on picturesque Onion Creek.
